A Happy New Year Edition of the Blackberry Project

Sometimes, all you can do is begin again.

It had been a few weeks since my last session of blackberry clearing. They were lovely weeks. My daughter was home from college for a quick visit. We got to share Christmas and New Year’s with her.  She’s already back at school. Her Winter Quarter courses start tomorrow.

But I woke up this morning with a fear that I was on the verge of losing my Blackberry Project momentum , like it was something that I used to do, not something that was part of my day-to-day anymore. I’m not sure how that happened. Yes, it was the holidays. Also, there were a few rainy days in there. But mostly, I think I just got out of the habit. I conveniently forgot that my intention was to do a few 20 minute clearing sessions a week and to film and share at least one of them.  There was baking to do and gifts to wrap, a tree to decorate. The End of Advent

December 28, 2020

Today is the day after Christmas.

I have a fire burning in the woodstove. It is raining. The dog is asleep on the blue blanket on his favorite corner of the red couch.

Advent is over. Christmas Day is gone. We are back in a time that is after Christmas.
